The Pinstripe Print Group in Birmingham says its investment in a new Heidelberg Linoprint CV was decided upon after being impressed by the quality of output from the five-colour printer, as well as its added value features.
Digital printing already accounts for 20% of Pinstripe’s turnover, and the company has elected to replace a system from an alternative supplier with the Linoprint. ‘We went out to market and looked at several devices,’ said operations director Paul Stone. ‘We were very impressed with the quality of the Linoprint. Having existing digital relationships meant that there were several prerequisites that a digital press needed to deliver and the Linoprint met those needs and gave us additional features which we hope will extend the digital services we offer.’
The Linoprint CV features a fifth colour which allows users to print white or clear (it is possible to swap between the two in about 10 or 15 minutes). The machine can run a wide range of stocks from 52 to 360 gsm and has a banner feeder enabling production of six A4 page jobs.
At the same time Pinstripe Print Group has also bolstered its CTP with the installation of Heidelberg’s Suprasetter 75 device, and has completed a switch to all Heidelberg pressroom consumables with the decision to run the Saphira Eco Chem Free 101 plate. In addition, while already holding the ISO 12647-2 certification through the BPIF’s Colour Quality Management Scheme, it is undertaking Heidelberg’s ISO 12647-2 certification as well.
