The Digifust 6080
The Digifust 6080 digital flatbed cutting machine, which is aimed at on-demand and short run production, has been launched by Watkiss Automation Sales.
The machine is the latest product from Italian finishing supplier Mamo. It is designed for printers who want to expand into the short run packaging and display sector; or for larger packaging operations as a quick and efficient tool for prototyping or short run jobs.
The cutter features a special multi-tool holder pneumatic head that can cut, crease and perforate on materials up to 5 mm thickness, including corrugated board, corrugated plastic, compressed foam board, plastic adhesive sheets. With micro-adjustable pneumatic pressure it can perform precise operations such as a kiss-cut for stickers and labels.
The machine accepts sheets up to 800 x 600 mm. It is supplied with easy-to-use V-Studio software and includes a camera for mark detection to ensure accurate cut-to-image registration. Tools for cutting, creasing and perforating are included as standard, with additional options for embossing and drawing.
‘With increasing demand for short run and personalised packaging and display products, the Digifust 6080 gives digital printers a very affordable entry into this sector,’ explained Paul Attew, director at Watkiss Automation. ‘It can help printers diversify their offering and grow their business by increasing sales to existing customers or by targeting new customers.’
