After four years of service, Greenwich printer TPS Print’s first Heidelberg Linoprint C901 has been replaced by the next generation of the technology, the Linoprint CP digital press (Ricoh Pro C9100), which can run at 110 pages a minute or 3300 SRA3 sheets an hour.

The company looked beyond alternative suppliers when it heard a rumour that Heidelberg would soon be able to offer a press with a 6-page A4 facility.

TPS Print’s managing director Phil Williams said: ‘We wanted the six page option, the higher speed and reduced click charge, so we bought the Linoprint CP to replace a four year old C 901. It is expensive to produce low run 6-page A4 work on a litho press so this will give us something great to offer our brochure customers.’

The 15 year old business attributes much of its success to being flexible, understanding its customers’ marketing challenges and providing a quality- and service-minded printing operation. It offers comprehensive design to mailing services and handles a diverse range of commercial print. A traditional Heidelberg litho house, it said the current split between litho and digital is 70/30%. The Linoprint CP is operating on a 12 hour a day shift to meet customer demand.
