Managed print company Danwood has signed a contract with book printing company TJ International to provide a Xerox digital printing solution to support its growing print volumes. The move means that TJ’s entire digital printing solution is now in-house.
TJ produces more than six million images for its customers, who include some of the UK’s largest publishers. The deal is part of a wider £6 million investment programme, which has also seen TJ International upgrade its bindery set-up and move into inkjet.
The installation of Xerox’s flagship high-speed digital press, the Xerox iGen 150 backed by a Xerox Versant 2100 is core to the Danwood solution. Danwood will also be able to provide a complete local service solution, with an engineer able to be on site in less than two hours to service the machines if required – vital considering the TJ International’s location in Padstow, Cornwall..
Angus Clark, chief executive, TJ International commented: ‘Customer demand for digital print is rising and increasingly we need to turn high volume orders around within 48 or even 24 hours. Through working with Danwood we’ve been able to bring volume print production facilities in-house to meet these tight deadlines, while making savings by bringing everything into our purpose-built site.’
Danny Roe, Sales Director, Danwood, added; ‘Working closely with Xerox from day one enabled us to create a bespoke solution that meets the company’s high volume digital print requirements and supports its ability to provide publishers with a full print lifecycle offering.’
