Birmingham-based Fosco Hayes Hurdley, has a taken a step into the direct-to-textile print arena with the purchase of a new MTEX 1800 printer.
The MTEX 1800 is a direct to fabric sublimation printing solution with integrated fixation. This affordable, professional printer means sign-makers and graphic display professionals can print and fix durable, colourfast textiles using one footprint in an all-in-one solution.
‘We’d seen that soft signage is a massive growth area but sometimes there are issues with using UV print to deliver for this market, as creasing or folding UV printed materials will always cause cracks in the print,’ explained managing director David Nicholas.
‘That doesn’t happen with the dye sub print from the MTEX 1800, allowing us to deliver a high quality, resilient and flexible product.
‘The ability to fold materials such as exhibition panels printed on fabric rather than using rigid media also reduces transport costs and our environmental impact, which supports us in retaining our ISO 14001 certificate for the eco-friendliness of our operations.’
With a print speed of up to 48 sqm/hr and resolutions up to 1440 dpi, the MTEX 1800 also saves time and money with little or no waste due to its direct-to-textile nature.
