Michael Burman, managing director of FE Burman, confirms the purchase of the HP Indigo 10000 at the Dscoop EMEA conference.
The UK’s fleet of B2 HP Indigo 10000 presses has grown further, with FE Burman from London and Sheffield’s ProCo installing their first such systems.
FE Burman only ordered the 10000 at the Dscoop EMEA conference at the start of June and installed it the following week. It is the company’s third HP Indigo solution and is expected to generate new business and application possibilities for FE Burman’s customer base.
‘It has been just over 20 years since we installed our first HP Indigo press,’ explained Michael Burman, managing director. ‘We have built strong, long-term relationships with our customers and they have come to expect bespoke, high-quality communications products. HP Indigo technology provides the flexibility and quality for us to be able to meet these expectations. It also allows us to keep pushing the envelope and providing our customers with innovative new products that meet their current market challenges. This is what the HP Indigo 10000 will do, creating new revenue streams and application opportunities.’
The company does not envisage using the press for traditional offset jobs, despite its format size and productivity. Instead, it will facilitate the creation of a new, digitally printed product range that will complement its current offering.
‘Having begun explaining to our customers some of the products that the HP Indigo 10000 can produce, we’ve received a hugely positive reaction and are confident that the press will enable us to broaden our range of innovative solutions,’ added Mr Burman.
ProCo’s Jon Bailey, meanwhile, said that the HP Indigo 10000 hadbeen on the firm’s radar for a while. He continued: ‘We’ve been focused on a strategic growth plan for the business, which began with our new partnership with Concept Communications last year. The installation of the HP Indigo 10000 is our latest step towards the end goal of further strengthening our national and international offerings and expanding our digital marketing solutions.’
It sees the new press as being able to bridge the gap between offset and digital, bringing all the benefits of digital printing, such as personalisation and cost-effective short-runs, to B2 format products.
‘Working with many leading marketing organisations, we recognise the importance of quick turnarounds, production efficiency and flexibility,’ said Mr Bailey. ‘HP Indigo technology allows us to provide this agile service. Of course, once we start working with the technology we’re sure to uncover many new opportunities and business ideas as well.’
