Ebbw Vale based Wrap & Pack can now offer perfect binding following its investment in a Horizon BQ-280 PUR single clamp perfect binder from Intelligent Finishing Systems.
‘We are a trade print finisher with mail fulfilment, wire-o binding, calendars, hand finishing and shrink wrapping services and wanted to expand our in-house capabilities to offer perfect binding to our customers,’ explained director, Phil Shepard.
He continued, ‘There has been an increase in demand for perfect bound short run work and we also hope the additional service will help us expand our client base further.’
Mr Shepard states other market available solutions were reviewed but chose to invest in the Horizon BQ280, after seeing it at Print Efficiently, for a number of reasons, ‘We liked the perfect binder’s automation, quality of finished product and ease of use.’
He added, ‘It gives a very high quality finished PUR bound book which is essential and on top of that it is very simple to operate with the use touch screen icon controls with job memory. A job can be ready with little to no waste too.’
The single-clamp BQ-280 features automatic nipper height control, smoother PUR book delivery, on screen adjustment height control for glue rollers and spinner as well as adjustable pressure above both scores. It can be supplied with a separate EVA side glue tank as well.
