Smart Directions, an initiative which will feature as an industry report, dedicated website and a conference in May, has been launched by Digital Printer.
Smart Directions is a union between suppliers and printers who want to invest into the future of the printing industry; giving printers ideas that will help grow their businesses.
A year long period of activity that will include regular features within Digital Printer magazine, a dedicated website, a comprehensive stand alone publication showcasing new ideas in February and a conference in May will set the tone for an ever changing industry.
The Smart Directions industry report will include examples of how printers can make money from business diversification and will look at the role of ‘smart selling’ within profitable printing businesses.
The conference, 13 May London, will be a an opportunity for printers to learn new ideas and to hear case studies from those who have found success by taking a fresh look at the printing industry. It will offer printers a chance to look at new ideas on business growth, creating new revenue streams, and also how to include print in the marketing mix.
The initiative has been widely accepted by suppliers to the industry with key names such as Antalis, Duplo, EFI, Epson, HP, IFS, Kodak, Lumejet, Premier Paper Scodix, and Vpress, all pledging their support to the conference. Trade associations, Media Market Place and the DMA (Direct Marketing Association) are also supporting the conference.
