Former Friedheim International managing director and chief executive officer Peter Morris has passed away after a long illness.

Mr Morris was diagnosed with cancer in October 2013 and then underwent a serious operation for an unrelated condition in June 2014. He officially retired from the company in September 2014.

Mark Bristow, Friedheim’s managing director, paid the following tribute: ‘The contribution of Peter Morris to the company and the printing and graphics arts industries as a whole for the past 40 years has been immense. His passion and enthusiasm for life in general and for all things related to print was an example to everyone. We have all lost a dear friend and colleague, but he leaves behind a wealth of happy memories.’

Mr Morris was also a former Picon chairman, a position he accepted in 2011. He used his two year term to drive the creation of the Graphics, Print & Media Alliance of eight industry organisations. His successor as chairman, Bob Usher of Apex Digital Graphics, said he would remember Mr Morris as ‘a gentleman with a robust personality and a huge passion for the print industry, combined with a heart of gold’.
