Colour Options has doubled its capacity with the installation of a Heidelberg Stahlfolder Ti52, which will be delivered to its York plant in December 2014.
‘We are replacing an old Morgana Docufold to provide an increase in folds. We will have cross-fold capability for the first time and be able to handle very small format work which is ideal for some of our specialist applications. It will give us twice the capacity,’ said Matt Taylor, managing director.
Colour Options is a digital specialist using HP Indigo technology and needing to provide a fast response service to its customers. ‘This folder might handle runs as low as 50 for our digital work but we also buy in litho work and so it could also handle 50,000. We haven’t chosen a more automated machine because this is the right technology for our volumes and budget. We run a Polar guillotine supplied by Heidelberg so we are confident in their ability to support the equipment,’ said Mr Taylor.
