B&R Moll, Inc. has developed the Moll Compact, a space-efficient versatile folder/gluer machine with one of the smallest footprints available.
Based on the company’s full-size Vantage 720 finishing system, the Moll Compact is a friction-fed folder/gluer that is ideal for small format folding and finishing work, including straight-line boxes, pillow packs, coffee cup sleeves, and more.
The unit is available in 66 cm, 91 cm and 101 cm configurations to accommodate a wide variety of materials and run multiple streams. Equipped with a tipper fold plate and plow fold capability to handle multiple fold formats, the Moll Compact also features a two-line hot-melt gluing system and a standard Dial-A-Stack unit with a batch counter.
‘The Moll Compact folder/gluer delivers a lot of the features and functionality of our full-size folder/gluers, but in a reduced footprint machine ideal for smaller print and finishing shop areas,’ Darren Vernon, director. ‘Its quick change-over time also makes it ideal for use with digital printing systems. When the time comes to upgrade, the Moll Compact can be converted to a full-size Vantage 720 system with the addition of a Versa-Fold unit.’
The Moll Compact folder/gluer can handle paper weights ranging from 140 g/m2 to 500 g/m2 stocks in sizes ranging from 50 mm x 102 mm up to 838 mm x 508 mm. Maximum linear speed is 130 m/min. The system is available for either 400V 3-phase, 60A/50Hz or 220V 3-phase, 60A/60Hz power connections and a 0.7mPa (90psi) compressed air connection.
