The second day of Ipex saw the debut of Cross Media Production, which looks at using print as part of multi channel marketing campaigns.

Cross Media Production included a number of seminars including, ‘Expanding marketing services to deliver cross channel campaigns.’ Panellist, Richard O’Brian, marketing services manager, EDF Energy, said that regardless of the channel being used, trust is still the most important factor. He said, ‘ Trust is the most important part of our relationship with our customers. A lot of customers still opt to receive their documentation by mail and as long as we are interacting with our customers it doesn’t matter what media we use.’

Also on the panel was Robert Johnson, head of brand services at Gala Bingo. He said, ‘Print vouchers still have a great appeal to our customers. However in different areas we are moving away from print, such as for posters, where we feel interactive screens are more effective.’

Other aspects of the show included OKI showing its latest offerings to the industry including its five colour digital LED A3 printer, which is being shown for the first time at Ipex.

At a press conference, Alwan, spoke about its new offerings in colour management and the new colour standard ISO 15339 which looks to enable accurate colour matching across different printing technologies.
