Following successful partnerships in a number of European countries between Agfa Graphics and French digital press manufacturer MGI, the latter’s range of digital printers are now to be distributed in the UK and Ireland by Agfa.

Joergen Vad, Agfa Graphics managing director, UK and Ireland, said: ‘Our experience shows that the MGI portfolio is very complimentary to our own workflow and CTP products, so now with access to MGI’s proven digital printers it means we can offer even more added value for our customers.’

MGI Technology managing director David Evans added: ‘We are delighted to be working with one of the leading printing equipment suppliers. Agfa’s commercial print customers will certainly appreciate and understand our conventional cost structure with no click charge when making their next digital investment.’

The agreement covers the full range of MGI equipment including the popular Meteor DP8700 XL versatile digital printer and the JETvarnish 3D, which takes digital spot UV coating to a new dimension, featuring increased throughput for flat spot UV jobs and 3D raised effects.
