The Finishing Alliance – whose members are Duplo, Friedheim International and Renz – have hailed their recent open house event at Duplo’s Addlestone facility, called Showcase ‘LIVE’, as a great success.
Visitors from 30 companies came to see a wide range of complementary finishing equipment, including Duplo’s DC-745 multifinisher with Integrated Folding System, which was launched at the firm’s London Calling event in November, the PBT MitamaxLay-flat book block builder Duplo now sells, Friedheim’s Komfi Amiga 52 laminator and Schneider Senator 78 guillotine, and Renz’s MOBI 500 semi-automatic wire binding machine.
Peter Jolly, managing director of Duplo UK, said: ‘For us the event has been a fantastic success and a nice ‘stepping stone’ between London Calling 5i and Ipex. We have been able to close three orders that began at London Calling, and we now have many more opportunities newly opened that we hope to close at Ipex. It was great to show synergy between The Finishing Alliance companies. Our clients are telling us that they like the consultative approach the Alliance brings and a single point of contact for their post-press needs.’
Managing director of Friedheim International Mark Bristow added: ‘Once again the ‘LIVE’ event highlighted what can be achieved by the Finishing Alliance in terms of the products and processes that work so well together. The quality of the products, combined with the experience and know-how of the three companies involved, is able to provide customers with a sense of security in any investment they make.’
‘This event has served as a great opportunity for Renz to get some “irons in the fire” pre-Ipex, and also to finalise details with a couple of customers that we first met at London Calling 5i,’ said Iain Bullock, managing director of Renz UK. ‘The combined strength of the Alliance members showcasing their complementary finishing technologies at a structured event under one roof like this has once again proved to be a great draw for printers interested to see where the next steps in finishing may lie for their businesses.’
