Ibis Integrated Bindery Systems, the provider of digital in-line saddle stitching products, has launched the Smart-binder ‘X’.
The new system has been stretched to increase maximum booklet format size to 18 x 11 inches. It can produce A5 portrait booklets 2-up, at very high production speeds using the optional trimmer centre-knife, and is currently in production at a customer site in the USA doing just that
John Cracknell, managing director, said, ‘The launch of the Smart-binder ‘X’ is another important milestone for us. The system is the only in-line digital saddle-stitcher available worldwide to produce variable data tabloid size products, or A5 booklets 2-up at 10,000 books per hour.’
