In the ExCel, London, Informa Exhibitions UK showed the exhibitors of Ipex 2014 that the event was on track to playing a vital role in the global print arena.
Over 300 delegates registered for the open day, which explained how exhibitors could make the most of their time at the show and gave an insight into what the organisers were doing to ensure visitors will be pouring through the doors.
Jeremy Rees, executive director of the ExCel, said, ‘Huge amounts of money have been invested into the services around the ExCel and the rest of east London. Nearly £7 million has been invested in the technology and infrastructure of the centre alone.’
Giving reference to the challenges that the organisers of the show have faced, Peter Hall, managing director of Informa Exhibitions UK, said, ‘It is safe to say the last couple of years have not been boring. We have focussed on the needs of printers over the world. We want to thank all of those present here today for your support.’
Trevor Crawford, event director, gave an overview of the different features that the show will hold, including Cross Media Production, an area dedicated to technologies for the design and execution of cross media campaigns; Future innovations, areas demonstrating the further integration of technology into the print industry; The World Print Summit, a 150 seat auditorium with keynote speakers and case studies; Inspiration Avenue, showing the diversity of print and the Ipex Master Class, dedicated to helping business growth for SME printers.
The open day also gave exhibitors a chance to speak to companies which may be able to help them at the show with a miniature exhibition of its own featuring nearly 40 stands filled with publishers, hotel chains and exhibition furniture suppliers.
A number of talks to help exhibitors included a presentation from Ian Sullivan, CEO, Paperhat Consorcio who spoke about social media and the role it can play to promote a campaign.
