CP Bourg launched its new Bourg BB3102 EVA/PUR-C compact perfect binder at an open house event on 23-24 October 2013 at its factory in Ottignies, Belgium.
The fully automated off-line perfect binding system with complete touchless free flow is aimed at short-run and on-demand production environments.
The binder combines all the features of the BB3002 with the new Bourg Book Loader (BBL), making it easy to produce a wide variety of bound softcover books from traditional or digital print streams with minimal operator intervention.
In minutes, the operator can load up to 120 book blocks into the BBL, and perform other tasks while the BB3102 operates unattended for up to 25 minutes.
The BB3102 combines the best of both worlds, thanks to the fact that the binder can be used with PUR or EVA glue and the switch between the two can take as little as 15 minutes, making it the easiest and cleanest machine on the market.
With all adjustments made through the touch screen interface, the binder produces every book automatically by adapting to the thickness of each job for perfect power milling, making up to 13 precise knife creases, centring each cover and delivering the perfect amount of PUR/EVA adhesive.
