Another production level digital print company has entered the market, after Nantwich-based Delmar Press installed a Ricoh Pro C651EX press in May to expand its product offering and help it move into new markets.  The company also runs two five-colour litho presses and a two-colour perfector.

Larry Springthorpe, managing director of Delmar Press said: ‘This is our first serious move into professional digital print production and we are very pleased with the results so far. What has really impressed me about the Ricoh machine even more than the high quality and production capabilities is its huge substrate versatility – printing on plastics, or the ability to produce very high-end short run books, for example.

The Pro C651EX outputs 65 pages per minute in colour or mono, and up to 180,000 sheets per month. The machine’s VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) technology ensures the highest image quality (4800 dpi), with chemical PxP toner and oil-less technology for accurate, smooth ‘offset-like’ image quality. It also accepts a wide range of substrates including card and plastics, with high productivity up to 300 gsm.
