Printagraph in Aberdeen and Inc Direct in Enfield have both installed Xerox’s larger sheet size iGen press, the iGen150 – the first such presses in both Scotland and the London area. In each case, the investment adds to existing Xerox press technology.
Inc Direct now claims to be one of the largest iGen installations in the UK, having already bought two Xerox iGen4’s alongside a raft of Xerox high speed mono production presses and a Horizon Stitchliner in 2010. The addition of the iGen150 will now allow Inc Direct to offer its clients Xerox’s MDI (Matt Drying Ink) technology and the 660 mm larger sheet size. The existing iGen4s have also been upgraded with these capabilities.
Noel Warner, the company’s chief executive said this new investment signified the final stage of a 3-year investment and business strategy, adding: ‘We’re now properly geared for significant growth to the end of our financial year in 2014.’
New business wins and continued growth were being seen in 100% fully variable data-driven direct mail and volume from web to print. ‘Our in house firepower combined with our unrivalled strategic thinking sets us apart and has been a major contributor to our continued success,’ Mr Warner contended.
For Printagraph, the iGen150, which also will run alongside an iGen4, is intended to help it continue to grow through opening-up new revenue streams, as well as to provide increased capacity, improved output quality, and a high quality onsite back-up device.
Andrew Hall, managing director at the Aberdeen firm, said: ‘With the new large sheet size the iGen 150 enables us to diversify our product portfolio and produce a greater range of high value print work.’
