The Jetrix KX5-R
InkTec Europe’s latest addition to its range of UV printers, the Jetrix KX5-R, will be officially launched and showcased for the first time in Europe at FESPA London, ExCel.
The new printer is a standard format 2.5 x 1.3 metre UV flatbed printer and similarly to its smaller brother, the 1212, the KX5 utilises the next generation Konica Minolta 1024 (6 pico litre) print head, which offers speeds of up to 30 sqm/hr and a maximum print resolution of 1440 dpi.
There is also a multi-layer print function built into the operating system. This feature enables the user to schedule print into layers instead of having to do multiple passes. It also features a brand new roll-to-roll system which is 2.2 metres wide.
One new feature of the model is its proprietary Jetrix UV ink. This ink-set is specially formulated to give strong adhesion to many substrates, such as glass, acrylic and metal, without the need for a primer.
It does not chip when routed or cut and can also be printed onto softer substrates, like polypropylene, and then folded without cracking. The printer is compatible with industry leading RIP software like Oynx, Caldera and Shiraz.
