Plockmatic PL4000 mailing system
Mark Bates Ltd, a specialist insurance provider, has installed a Plockmatic PL4000 mailing system, the first to be installed by Morgana Systems since its acquisition by Sweden’s Plockmatic.
Like most insurance businesses the company has a need for mailing policy and information packs out to both new and existing customers on a daily basis. These can be quite complex pieces of postage, with three to six items being inserted including booklets, fliers and an addressed letter, all packed into a window envelope.
Heidi Braban, office manager, said, ‘The previous system used at the company was causing serious difficulties. It reached the point where the service engineer from the supplier was with us at least three days out of five, everything from the type of paper being used to the colour of the inks used on the printed inserts was being blamed for items not feeding properly on this equipment.
‘Having decided that this was not helping the performance of the business at all, we needed to find a replacement system, and the Plockmatic system came to our attention. Following an initial discussion, we were invited down to the Morgana Systems showroom in Milton Keynes to see the machine in action. We were asked to take samples of our work down with us in order to test the unit with real live jobs.
‘Needless to say, we were very quickly impressed by what we saw. OK, our recent experience had left us surprised to see two envelopes stuffed in succession, but the speed that the Plockmatic ran through the test work that we had taken convinced us very quickly that this machine could make a huge difference to our lives.’
