At Fespa in London (June 25 to 29 2013), an easy-to-use process control instrument for the digital printing market will be shown by Barbieri.
Named DOC (Digital Output Control), this process control solution is based on the company’s portable spectrophotometer, the SpectroPad, and checks the stability of the digital printing process. Barbieri observed that process control is little practiced in digital printing, especially in wide format.
The DOC process control solution comes with specially built-in DOC software to run with the Spectropad. Using SpectroPad DOC the stability of the process can be verified immediately and whether the print is within the specifications can be determined directly on the printer.
For the wide range of media used in digital large format printing the company provides presets and templates tailored to each special media characteristic.
Being wireless (battery operated and WiFi enabled) the control strip can be measured directly on the printer. The measuring device calculates the DOC report internally and displays the result on the touch screen. If required, the data can be sent wireless to a computer where a report can be printed.
