In order to expand its book on demand service The Lavenham Press has chosen the Horizon BQ470.

‘We have been using Muller Martini binding equipment for many years but with demand increasing for our short run and print on demand service we needed an additional binder that could effectively handle runs of one. We did have a Horizon BQ270 and that worked well but to meet the increase in demand for this service we wanted a higher volume solution.’

One of the binder’s features is its interchangeable Eva and PUR glue tanks.  ‘This gives us a wide range of flexibility in the bindery and that make us more productive,’ commented Terrance Dalton, managing director. ‘PUR is something we can offer as an upgrade and customers like the fact that it looks good, offers a stronger bind not to mention layflat qualities.’

Another important aspect was the waste savings possible. ‘It is very efficient process, said Mr Dalton. ‘There is no wastage and that is vital as far as costs are concerned, not to mention the knock on effects on sustainability.’
