The new CreaseMatic Auto50 suction fed programmable creaser, manufactured by KAS Paper Systems in Dunstable, has been introduced by Ashgate Automation.
It has an easy to use touch screen which comes with six standard programmes and six default programmes, and can be operated by a one touch start up control. The Auto 50 produces up to 35 creases per sheet on stock sizes from CD to 500 x 700 mm. Regular jobs and settings can be stored for instant recall.
The rise and fall platen creasing action enables positive, accurate creasing on digital and litho printed stocks up to 400 gsm at over 8000 sheets per hour. It is supplied with four creasing width tools and a rotary perforating tool to cover the stock range up to 400 gsm.
A top loading and bottom feed suction system is designed for continuous production. Features also include centre suction feed to avoid skewing and two reversible crease matrix bars, which allow different crease widths to be used according to the thickness of the stock.
One of the matrix bars supplied enables channel self adhesive matrix to be attached. These channel matrix are available in many sizes, are inexpensive to use and very popular for creasing lightweight stocks 80-150 gsm. This system provides a single point crease, which is especially useful if the job is to be stitched and folded.
