Mimaki has said it will forgo Ipex 2014 in favour of concentrating its resources on the upcoming Fespa event, where it cantarget companies operating in the sign, large format and textile sectors.
While the withdrawal of Canon from Ipex 2014 recently was a blow to the event, Mimaki’s announcement carries less weight it seems for the organisers, who responded with a Tweet saying: ‘To clarify Mimaki Europe has not withdrawn from Ipex2014. They never even booked a stand in the first place!’.
In 2012, Mimaki launched a raft of products and said it enjoyed significant success at trade shows across Europe, spurring the company to establish a dedicated EMEA operation. It has decided to participate at Fespa so that it can continue to build on its momentum in Europe.
Mike Horsten, marketing manager stated, ‘2012 was a very big year for us in Europe. We launched lots of new products, attended lots of exhibitions, and were lucky enough to walk away with some industry awards. Having made such great strides in Europe, it makes more sense that we attend Fespa, where we can strengthen our relationships with our customers, partners and prospects in this key region.’
