HP 10000 B2 Indigo digital press
Pureprint has placed an order for a second digital press after it has been beta testing the HP 10000 B2 Indigo since November.
Mark Handford, chief executive, said ‘It is already clear that the 10000 fits perfectly with our current work mix and offers our customers the prospect of designing exciting new solutions. I have not seen so much interest from our customers in a new piece of printing equipment in the 20 years since I took over the running of the business. The big format, striking print quality and the ability to run personalisation across multiple versions at virtually no extra cost makes the B2 Indigo a potential business changer for our customers and for us. The need to have good data handling and variable data skills in house to use this press to its full potential means it will not be for everyone. But for us and our customers who are marketing bespoke products to discerning individuals, it has the ability to reduce costs, increase returns and encourage creativity.’
Pureprint has seen turnover increase by 20% each year for the last four years and now employs over 200 people. The digital printing department was started only four years ago and now with three HP Indigo 7500s and the new 10000 it produces 20% of the company’s turnover. The litho side of the business has five multi colour presses including three Heidelberg 105 XLs, taking the company’s capital expenditure in the latest printing technologies to £15 million over the last five years.
Mr Handford continued, ‘Economic conditions are what they are but the developing technologies in print make this one of the most innovative eras our industry has seen and as a result we are noticing increasing demand for our bespoke services and products. We expect the HP 10000 to be right at the heart of meeting this demand.’
