Tools that allow printers to engage with partners to sell photo merchandise and track the origin of orders to award commission are among more than 20 new features in version 3.5 of the leading photobook software, Taopix Portfolio.
The software has now been adopted by over 400 print service providers and pro labs worldwide as a photo book and gift design, file delivery and ordering tool. The new business tools can also work for the retail sector, whereby the origin of orders can be analysed by store location. Included in version 3.5 is the Straighten Horizon feature, a tool that allows the end user to straighten pictures that have been taken at a misaligned angle. This joined by a greatly enhanced crop tool, making both of these processes considerably easier.
An External User Authentication API allows Taopix customers and their brand partners to use a single database containing user login and password data to operate multiple platforms. This will mean that end users can use one login and password to access their accounts within different systems.
James Gray, Taopix chief executive officer, said: ‘This new version is testament to our core beliefs – we want to give our customers the tools they need to be successful, both new software features for their end users and important business tools for them. Taopix Portfolio is not just a fully-featured design application for the consumer or photographer, it has to be backed up by robust features that help the PSP get to market and win business – features such as Gift Cards and Vouchers as well as data export to marketing engines and MIS systems.’
