Logoshack, a Stoke-on-Trent company specialising in signage, POS and self-adhesive graphics, has installed an Acuity Advance HD large format flatbed UV inkjet printer from Fujifilm.

The company operates across various sectors ranging from retail to construction and recently moved to new 930 m2 premises in time for its upcoming 20th anniversary. Originally a screen printer, it adopted digital wide format printing ten years ago.

‘We consider ourselves a forward-thinking company so we have always been on the lookout for new solutions,’ said managing director Phil Davies. ;We regularly attend various exhibitions to see what’s currently available, and we go through a very stringent selection process when looking at new equipment so that we can continue to deliver the high quality our customers expect from us. This time we were particularly looking for a printer that could offer versatility and high quality, to complement the superwide format machine we already have in the pressroom, and after looking at various models we were won over by the Acuity Advance.’

The Acuity Advance HD2565W flatbed printer (pictured above) combines near photographic print quality and high productivity, while providing a roll-to-roll option. It also has a white ink option can print on a wide range of rigid and flexible materials, such as wood, metal and, plastics, as well as clear and coloured products. For Logoshack, it was this level of versatility that attracted it.

‘There were a number of the Acuity’s features that particularly caught our eye, especially the roll-to-roll unit and the ability to print directly onto flexible surfaces, such as the self adhesive vinyl we regularly use,’ said Mr Davies. ‘These features are essential with the types of customers we work with, some of which are high street brands that expect the highest quality service.’

The speed of the machine was also a high priority, he added: ‘It is extremely important to us, as much of our work is time critical and we’re printing multiple jobs. With the Acuity Advance I can only say that we are not disappointed. We’ve been delighted with Fujifilm’s service throughout. From the early stages when we tested the product in the showroom, through to an on-site inspection of our facilities and the final installation of the printer, the service team provided excellent support.’
