Wem-based commercial printer NS Print has purchased a new Horizon AFC-566F automated B2 combination folding machine while visiting the Print Efficiently 2012 event, hosted by Intelligent Finishing Systems at its Perivale showrooms.
The new system will complement an existing UFO machine to help tackle the increasingly complex fold patterns and tighter deadlines of the current on-demand print marketplace.
Director Reg Parsons said: ‘The expectations for accuracy and speed while keeping our prices competitive means we can’t afford the luxury of lengthy set ups or too much waste. We’ve been looking at folding machines over the past couple of years, knowing we’d have to invest, and we visited Print Efficiently specifically to look at the Horizon. Its touch screen struck us as a more user-friendly solution and it performs extremely well; we particularly like the compact footprint – it’s ideal for us.’
NS Print (North Shropshire Printing Company Ltd) was established in 1970 and has a staff of 14. It offers a full range of print services from studio to delivery. The pressroom includes two Heidelberg Speedmaster presses and an Océ CS665 digital colour press.
Mr Parsons expects the new investment to help drive NS Print through the £1/2 million turnover barrier in 2012.
