A pair of LED toner printers with white printing facilities are being demonstrated by OKI at this week’s Photokina show in Cologne.

The SRA3 format ES9420WT and A4 format ES7411WT models are described as prototypes. They can print CMYK plus a white toner, which is primarily intended to create heat transfers for dark fabrics or other substrates such as wood and metals.

Prices are keen for these compact printers: ‘below 10,000 Euros’ (about £8000) for the SRA3 model and below 3000 Euros (£2420) for the A4 printer.

Both models feature OKI’s usual straight paper path which allows the handling of heavy substrates up to 250 g/m2 (the A4 model) or 330 g/m2 (SRA3), as well as hand fed long banner sheets.

The SRA3 printer can be used with RGF Certa Perfect Proof LED Matt Film, a special transfer foil intended for the production of packaging proofs.

At Photokina OKI will be inviting visitors to have their portraits photographed in a photo booth, which will then be printed onto textiles and other media.

Also new is the OKI ES8441, a CMYK model intended for photo book production. This can be driven by an EFI Fiery XF software RIP.
