The second Print Efficiently event will be held in October, at the IFS showrooms in Perivale, west London. Core event partners are Kodak, IFS/Horizon and Apex Digital Graphics/Ryobi. Visitors will be able to see live demonstrations of their latest digital and litho printing technologies and automated finishing systems over a two week period beginning on 8 October.
The first Print Efficiently was held in July last year. The event combines pre-press, press and post-press suppliers who will showcase their most efficient production solutions with the latest technology for short run, commercial printing. The 2011 event attracted more than 350 visitors, resulting in orders estimated to be in excess of £2.5 million.
Other partners due to attend the 2012 event include: Roland DG with wide format print solutions, KAS Paper Systems with mailroom inserting and wrapping machines; PDC (Perfect Document Creation) showing coil binding solutions; and Lake Image Systems with camera verification systems. Shuttleworth Business Systems will demonstrate its MIS solutions and provide the JDF workflow. The paper and substrates partner is Antalis McNaughton.
Pat Holloway, Kodak UK marketing manager, said: ‘Last year’s event proved immensely popular with visitors and was a great success for us. This kind of collaborative exercise gives us a unique platform to demonstrate real working solutions and discuss production efficiencies in a far more hands-on and relaxed atmosphere than at exhibitions. This year we will be building-in opportunities for discussion and debate. We are planning some seminars and forum features to give visitors the chance to ask questions and discuss their business needs. With the range of processes on demonstration – digital and litho, from pre-press to mailroom – there really is something for everyone.’
Bryan Godwyn, joint managing director of Intelligent Finishing Systems, said: ‘With showroom space the best part of 1,000 m2 and such a broad spread of high quality partners, Print Efficiently really does offer something special; this is a very solution-focused event. Items produced will range from one-off photobooks and posters, and calendars and crash-lock boxes to printed sections folded and bound into soft and hard-back books… and everything in between. Because we have the benefit of such a wide resource base and there are no pressures of time, it means that visitors really can get to grips with end-to-end production processes that will help them to drive their businesses forward.’
