Document Despatch, a Hampshire-based print and mail services provider, has invested £200,000 in a Pitney Bowes FPS Inserter with inline inkjet printing capability.

The inserter is expected to process around half of the company’s annual volume of 12 million documents, including invoice and statement runs and charity sector mailings.

The set-up is completed by a fully-integrated Pitney Bowes Envelope Finishing System. This allows Document Despatch to save time and money by printing information, including variable messages, inline, directly onto the envelope. Previously, envelopes were remotely prepared, making fulfilment a two-stage process.

Managing director Leigh Foster  said: ‘We looked at systems from other providers but the Pitney Bowes technology provides us with level of functionality and flexibility that we need. The inline printer and matching capabilities have already streamlined processes for us and the FPS inserter provides the necessary integrity guarantee that is essential for our transactional work.

‘The investment takes our spending over the last 12 months to around half a million pounds, testament to the growth and development of the organisation which is offering services to meet market requirements.’
