Bodoni Systems has released pressSIGN 5 Multi-Site Internet Server (MSIS), intended to allow brand managers, corporates and print buyers to control print quality through web browsers.
It will measure and control any printed job, from one to 16 colours, for any print process. The brand manager defines the standard, with tolerances and scoring. As the job is measured remotely it automatically appears in the central database. The brand manager can see all the measurements and has a full production report, with the option of on-screen soft proofs.
An internal chat facility aids communication between brand manager, client and print supplier. As each measurement takes place the soft proof is updated automatically, with comments exchanged through the chat system.
Multi-job production reports can be compiled, comparing printers, presses, sites and operators. These can show the performance of different print processes and how well some campaigns have been produced in comparison with others.
International standards like ISO 12647 can be used, or managers can create their own. A colour-coded scoring system makes it easy to identify the quality of the work and gives both buyer and supplier an objective benchmark.
pressSIGN is supplied with Pantone libraries and the ability to create custom colour libraries, which can be shared globally or with selected sites depending on the campaign.
