Service Graphics, the large format print and display division of St Ives Group, undertook the complete rebranding of Wembley Stadium for the FA Cup semi finals and finals.
The company is the preferred supplier to The FA Group and Wembley Stadium. The brief was to provide a complete install of all rebranding within the bowl, players block and exterior sites of the stadium, applying branding for the sponsor Budweiser.
The FA Cup Semi Finals took place over 14 and 15 April followed by the final on taking place on 5 May when Chelsea FC won the trophy. Budweiser has been Official sponsor since 2011 and will remain until 2014.
Service Graphics produced 830 sheets of Correx, all printed on its Inca Onset S20 UV flatbed inkjet, housed at its Chessington site. In addition, 5200 square metres of mesh PVC was printed using a Durst RHO 500 large format inkjet, as well as various other signage and branding around the stadium sites.
The production challenge included time sensitive deadlines, with a turnaround of just two weeks from receipt of artwork to produce and install the new branding. All lower level branding was installed by the Service Graphics Wembley team while high level branding (North Fascia banners and Gantry banners) was installed by Service Graphics’ appointed rigging company.
Charlie Boss, marketing manager at The Football Association said: ‘We were very pleased with the work Service Graphics delivered for The FA Cup’s first season with Budweiser. It was imperative that the stadium rebrand was completed to a high specification for such an iconic event in the sporting calendar. Service Graphics delivered a high quality of work and excellent customer service throughout, providing us with a dedicated team to ensure a faultless service and fast turnaround.’
