Surrey-based 4-Print has found the answer to its quick turnaround finishing needs through two systems purchased from Vivid Laminating Technologies.
Having invested in a Heidelberg Versafire CP press – its first digital print engine – the company found that its existing post-press capabilities – which were geared to litho work – did not suit the faster production expectations of digital print customers.
After researching the market, it decided upon a Vivid Laminating Matrix 530 Duplex laminator with Omniflow deep pile feeder to cope with 700 mm banner sheets, as well as a Magnum MC-35A automatic creaser for creasing and perforating.
4-Print managing director Nigel Fountain said: ‘We were attracted to both pieces of equipment because of the fast set-up times and ease of use. Both items made an instant impact on production. Same-day laminating enabled us to meet deadlines never achievable before.
‘The perforating and creasing for short run work perfectly complemented our existing set up. Our short run production has gone up significantly, everything from business cards to folders and multi-page brochures.’
