Users of OKI’s ColorPainter series of wide format printers have been given access to a new database of 14,000 media profiles, giving them accurate media and colour management settings that OKI claimed could also unlock new revenue opportunities.
Once registered, users can download unlimited numbers of profiles and view a history of downloads for repeat tasks. The database is also available for older devices and for different RIP software, including ONYX and Caldera. OKI said the resource will be continuously updated with new profiles and media types.
The ColorPainter series includes the H3-104 for high volume professional graphics, the versatile and durable M-64, and the newest device, the E-64, designed for high levels of performance and ease of use. OKI said the range is designed to ‘overcome common environmental, quality and media flexibility barriers’, and enables customers to produce a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications, such as billboard banners and posters, vehicle and building wraps, backlit signage, floor graphics, wallpaper, oil-paint replicas and real photo reprints.
Jari Tiihonen, wide format business development manager for OKI Europe (NW Region), commented: ‘By enabling businesses to choose from a vast range of tried-and-tested media profiles, we have eliminated the significant time and cost involved in creating new profiles, paving the way for customers to achieve better results and create more profitable applications.’
