The Roby Zero at Precision Printing supports extremely short run hardcover production
A pair of Zechini Roby casemakers supplied by Friedheim International are central to plans to boost short run book production at Dagenham-based Precision Print.
Following a move earlier this year from Barking to Dagenham, Precision wanted to bring hardcover book production in house and has installed the Zechini Roby Zero case maker introduced earlier this year plus a Roby Junior 2 model. The company has a roster of blue-chip clients including major consumer, financial, retail and automotive brands, academic institutions and sports clubs.
Andy Scarpellis, Precision’s CEO, said ‘Due to Friedheim’s long-standing reputation and the support that they can offer for the machines and with our past experience with them servicing our older equipment, it’s the obvious choice when buying new equipment.’
The semi-automatic Roby Junior 2 suits both short and medium runs, and features an integrated gluing unit which reduces its physical footprint, while the manual Roby Zero offers quick and simple changeover via its joystick control for extremely short runs, down to book-of-one. All the usual covering materials can be used, from plain or laminated paper to fabric and artificial leather.
