Swanline’s Cygnus Eco Board is resistant to moisture.
Suitable for printing via UV flatbed digital and perfect for a number of outdoor and short -term signage and packaging applications, Cygnus Eco Board is a new FSC-certified environmentally friendly display board range from Swanline Paper and Board.
Cygnus Eco is 100% fibre based yet is resistant to moisture, and its manufacturer says it can therefore replace many plastic-based alternatives, including foam boards, foam PVC, fluted polypropylene, PE coated materials, HIPS and other plastic composites, without any cost or performance penalties. Swanline adds that it has ‘exceptional ink adhesion’ and can be digitally or die cut.
Ross Griffin, managing director of Swanline Paper & Board, commented: ‘Many people assume there will be a compromise in using an environmentally friendly board; either it will be more expensive than, or not as durable as, plastic alternatives. However, we have put the board through its paces and have conducted a wide range of trials over the last 12 months. We know this board can withstand extreme weather conditions and be used for a variety of applications.”
Cygnus Eco Board is available in a range of callipers from 310 to 2200 micron. Recyclable up to eight times, it is also compostable and biodegradable, and so it can be disposed of in the normal paperboard waste stream.
