The new presses will be made available throughout Europe in early 2019
The newest additions to Ricoh’s sign and display print portfolio, the Ricoh Pro L5130 and L5160 latex roll-to-roll printers, were unveiled at this year’s Viscom in Milan.
The printers are targeted at and sign and display specialists requiring faster short-run production, broader job capabilities and revenue streams and enhanced productivity.
They print at speeds of up to 44sqm/hr in outdoor standard mode and 25sqm/hr in indoor standard mode. The series produces applications up to 1200 x 1200dpi.
Additional features include automated maintenance, a durable design, Greenguard-certified latex inks and industrial-grade printheads. The curing technology ensures jobs produced are output ready for finishing as soon as they are printed while a three-way “intelligent” heater helps prevent melting or warping of thinner substrates.
With CMYK and CMYK-plus-white options available, high ink opacity and adhesion support a variety of applications on substrates that range from wall coverings to window graphics to backlit day/night signage. Substrate flexibility is enhanced via support for two- and three-inch roll cores for up to 200gsm and media up to 64 inches wide.
‘These agile and versatile solutions are suited to a broad range of end use applications,’ said Graham Kennedy, head of commercial inkjet business, Commercial and Industrial Printing. ‘The Ricoh Pro L5130/L5160 series combine our own inks, printheads and design, to empower users to deliver the kinds of applications their clients are looking for – quickly, easily and to a very high quality. We showed them at Fespa in May as a technology demonstration, and the feedback was extraordinary, so we are very excited about announcing them at Viscom.’
The new presses will be made available throughout Europe in early 2019.
