The expansion has added 6000 square feet of production space
to Rocket’s site

Rocket Graphics has expanded its Watford-based
facilities, adding nearly an additional third (30%) – or 6000
square feet – of production space to its Croxley Business Park
site.

The extra room will house a new 3.2m Vutek LX3 UV hybrid
printer, allowing for improved print quality, plus speeds of up to
60% faster than its predecessor machine. The company will also
be able to offer enhanced white-print options and uniform
state-of-the-art print quality of up to 5 metres wide, thanks to
its existing Vutek GS5000r and 3.2m M-Tex Dye Sublimation
printers.

The new space is also home to a Zund G3 3.2m-wide cutting bed,
which has been added to the current 2.2m-wide machine, allowing for
faster cutting and collating of both wide format roll and skin
media.

‘Both machines were critical in helping us to deliver and
install wall graphics measuring more than more than 3000m in just
10 days recently for golf’s Ryder Cup, for which both colour
quality and speed were of the essence,’ said sales director
Antony Rider.

At the same time, the expansion creates extra office space for
Rocket’s growing project management team and a bank of five Mimaki
printers, recently bolstered with a UV LED-curing JV300 1600mm-wide
machine.

Part of the new area will be used for vehicle wrapping,
collating or partly pre-building modular graphic framing systems
and lightboxes.

Mr Rider added, ‘It’s important that, as deadlines shorten and
client expectations climb ever higher, we have the staff,
mechanical resources and technology to respond proactively, and
improve what we offer to both existing and new clients.’
