Pureprint will become the first printer in the UK with three HP Indigo B2 HD digital presses after installing a new Indigo 12000 and upgrading an existing Indigo 10000. The installation of the new press and all the upgrade work is due to be completed by the end of January.
All three presses will be fitted with the high-resolution HD printing capability, which offers the finest print resolution from the HP print platform. In addition, HP have enhanced the colour management software on the new presses.
The HP Indigo 12000 presses print a sheet size up to 750 x 530mm and the HD technology doubles print resolution to achieve improved image smoothness by printing at 1600dpi with screen sets up to 290lpi. The high definition imaging system uses an additional 12 laser beams to achieve the higher resolution.
‘Since the first HP 12000 press came in we have experienced higher levels of productivity and our customers looking for fine art and photographic quality have also been really impressed with the higher resolution that we are able to offer them,’ explained Pureprint CEO Mark Handford. ‘The three HP Indigo B2 digital presses all with the HD technology, together with our three HP Indigo 7800 presses, means our customers can now print variable content work to the highest quality in quantities from one to 1 million on the most demanding schedules. This is generating some great new business for us.’
