During Fespa 2019 the European Digital Press Association once again celebrated the best technological developments in the industry over the previous 12 months.
Every year 21 of European trade magazines evaluate products including software and hardware, printing devices, post-press solutions and consumables.
This year the 28 winners were selected across five categories, with the awards being handed out on the second day of Fespa Global Print Expo in Munich.
Some of the highlights included:
Agfa’s Jeti Tauro H3300 LED inkjet printer scooped the Large and wide format printing systems award;
The new P5 350 from Durst, triumphed in the Flatbed/hybrid Printer < 250sqm/h category;
Fujifilm’s Jet Press 750S was recognised as the press of the year in the Cut sheet colour B2(+) category;
Kodak took the award for the Best special effect ink/toner for its new Custom Color solution
Mimaki scooped two gongs: its Tiger-1800B Mkll textile printer was recognised as the Best textile printer roll-to-roll > 100sqm/h and, in conjunction with Rimslow Series of treatment equipment, as Best pre- and postpress-treatment solution;
The award for the Best multipurpose printer went to Mutoh’s ValueJet 1627MH hybrid printer;
Best web-fed colour up to 550mm width went to Ricoh’s Pro VC70000 inkjet press; and
Roland went home with the award for Best print and cut solution, for its TrueVIS VG2 series eco-solvent printer/cutter.
