The Printing Charity helped 1737 people in 2018, according to newly re-elected chairman Jon Wright.
Speaking at the charity’s 192nd annual general meeting last month Mr Wright reported that his organisation helped 832 people through its education initiatives, including 91 Print Futures Awards winners, and 197 people facing redundancy. This is an increase of 34% on 2017.
In a round-up of the charity’s activities chief executive Neil Lovell gave an update on improvements to the charity’s two sheltered home schemes for people who have retired from the sector as well as extensions to the annual Print Futures Awards programme.
This year’s guest speaker was Lauren Powell, a 2018 Print Futures Award winner and trainee account executive at Adare SEC.
