Tokyo-based Japan Pulp & Paper (JPP) has acquired Premier Paper Group after purchasing its holding company, RADMS Paper.
JPP is a global company, with a turnover in excess of $5bn, that operates in several different sectors including property, IT systems, recycling and renewable energy, though paper manufacturing and distribution is the core of its business.
The company has operations in North America and Central America, Asia, the Middle East, Australasia and Europe, though it is best known in the UK for its publishing merchant Gould Paper Sales.
‘Premier Paper is one of the most successful paper merchants in Europe,’ said its managing director Dave Allen. ‘For some time the board of directors has been searching for a partner that can help the Company build on our current success and achieve our full development potential.
‘Our strategy of diversifying into parallel market sectors, such as display and packaging, whilst maintaining our position in the core coated and uncoated sector, will continue. We believe that being part of JPP will help us achieve our business growth objectives and continue to provide a wide choice of products and a first class level of service to customers across the UK.’
The existing Premier Paper management team will remain in place.
