Scodix has launched Studio W2P, a web-to-print add-on intended to drive uptake of its digital enhancement presses through workflow integration with existing web-to-print systems, making it possible to automate the addition of value-adding finishing features.
The software has already been implemented at a score of sites in North America and Europe and will be included in the installation of multiple Scodix systems at Shutterfly sites across the United States. It works by automatically processing data from design files and directing it to a Scodix Ultra press to add one or more of the nine enhancement effects available. This automation enhances the productivity of both the Scodix press and the workflow as a whole; MIS integration is also available.
‘We see web-to-print as a key market for Scodix,’ said CEO Adina Shorr. ‘The Association for Print Technologies predicts a compound annual growth rate in the sector of 5.7% until 2023, so there’s clear opportunity for our customers to leverage.
‘Scodix digital enhancement provides a perfect solution for differentiating businesses from the competition and keeping customers returning for products that truly change the business. The new Scodix Studio W2P provides the perfect tool for fully automated workflow for this space.’
Scodix is distributed in the UK by Friedheim.
