CMYUK key to ProCo success

Carl Jackson has been heading up Pro Co's wide-format division for four years

ProCo has hailed CMYUK’s Pongs materials following a successful expansion into the wide-format market. 

The Sheffield-based printer first brought its wide-format operation in-house four years ago, but it is a partnership forged over the past 18 months that the company sees as central to its success.

ProCo first approached CMYUK about its volume output for double-sided tension frame fabrics and has been using Pongs PrintTex Artist Mambo ever since. This polyester, backlit material is designed to be stretchy enough to mount on a frame and can take both UV and latex inks.

‘There is an uplift in creative morale with this type of work,’ large format print manager Carl Jackson. ‘The end-to-end, we create it, we produce it, we install it and that’s where the passion comes from. Obviously, retail is our bread and butter, but additionally, wall graphics and fabrics, wrapping rooms for makeovers, wrapping furniture, textile work – that’s a natural progression for us.

‘The thing with CMYUK is the great relationship it has with Pongs, which has some fabulous products. We work with fantastic clients who challenge us to come up with something new, something different. CMYUK will find me something, they are a great company for innovation.’

ProCo’s wide-format department now employs seven people, runs an Agfa Jeti Tauro H2500 LED printer and an Agfa Anapurna RTR3200i, and finishes work on a Crest RSC3200 X-Y cutting system, a Matic Cronos Ultimate sewing station and a Bobis Multi-Applicator.
