Hybrid Services gave European and worldwide debuts to a range of Mimaki sign and graphics products at The Print Show this week.

These included the Mimaki JV300Plus Series 1.6m solvent printer and the CJV300Plus Series integrated printer/cutter, making their debut in Birmingham.

‘We were delighted to be able to wow visitors to The Print Show with the global launch of these two next-generation products from Mimaki,’ said Brett Newman, chief operations manager at Hybrid. ‘They have a number of additional features and benefits that we are certain will impress the market.’

The CJV300Plus Series features a new ID Cut function designed to make printing and cutting easier and faster. The ‘barcode’, read by the registration mark sensor on the printer/cutter, contains cutting and rotation information which allows the machine to automate the cutting process.

Other enhancements include a production mode for high-speed print runs including a new refinement to Mimaki’s MAPS software that controls how overlapping bands are rendered in the higher speed modes, in order to reduce visible banding. There is also an increased weight capacity on the take-up unit, now able to handle rolls of up to 45kg, and improved media feeding accuracy and positional correction.

Making its European debut in Birmingham was the SWJ-320EA, a 3.2m width solvent printer which Mr Newman told Digital Printer would appeal to those with an ‘aspiration’ to own a 3 metre-plus printer at a price point of around £40,000, significantly cheaper than offerings from other suppliers in the super-wide segment. Ink pricing for the 137sqm/hr printer at £35 per litre is intended to enable users of the SWJ-320EA to compete with owners of higher priced devices. The new printer offers CMYK print at 1200dpi and can support dual roll operation to maintain overall productivity on small format jobs.

Other products unveiled on Hybrid’s stand included the new Mimaki CG-FXIIPlus cutter and the JFX200-2513EX 1.3 x 2.5m flatbed launched at Fespa in May.
