IFS has supplied a Horizon BQ-270V single clamp perfect binder to Art Projects for Schools, which will be able to handle longer runs more quickly as a result.
Art Projects supplies fundraising creative projects to primary schools, These include The Christmas Card Project, which one year saw the transformation of 220,000 artworks into almost 6 million Christmas cards, raising money for the schools involved in the process.
‘The investment was made to increase sales and enhance customer service,’ explained Dan Dickey, an ex-teacher and CEO of the company. ‘We had an older perfect binder and it was time to invest in a new system to elevate our capability and expand our capacity. We liked the Horizon BQ-270V because of its speed and build quality. It will enable us to take on larger runs and offer faster turnaround times. It has been running well since it was installed and we are very pleased with it.’
Mr Dickey added, ‘We have undertaken several new projects which require high quality and productivity. We expect ROI to come from productivity savings and business growth as a result of the quality we can now guarantee.’
The 550cph BQ-270V is suited to on-demand production of variable thickness books and features an automated digital caliper system to measure book block thickness and transfer data to the binder to automate set-up.
