As part of its mission to become more environmentally friendly, wide-format and signage specialist Imageco has introduced Ocean Canvas and Ocean Tex, two new substrates made from recycled materials.

Ocean Canvas is made from 100% recycled bottles to create a woven canvas well suited for display graphics. Meanwhile Ocean Tex uses yarn created from recycled plastic to create a back-lit textile.

The Leeds-based company’s stated goal is to become as sustainable as possible and to reduce its PVC and plastic consumption. As such it has been sourcing products that are primarily made from recycled plastic to help combat plastic pollution.

‘We have always been mindful of our environmental impact and over the years have been introducing more sustainable products to our portfolio and changing our manufacturing and waste processes,’ said Imageco director, Nathan Swinson-Bullough. ‘Plastic waste is a concern for countries worldwide, so anything we can do to combat that, we will. We hope to encourage our clients to follow in our footsteps and start switching to eco-friendly products and set the standard for sustainable wide-format printing.’
