The Hexis UK Wrap Battle Contest will be returning to Sign & Digital in 2020, with £5500 in prize money and the title of ‘Best UK Installer’ up for grabs.
Two heats and a semi-final will take place on the show floor each day, with participants competing in contests lasting up to 10 minutes. Entrants will be judged on speed, efficiency and quality of work, with the daily winners progressing to a grand finale on Thursday 30 April, the last day of the show.
‘There are lots of new features we’re excited about for the 2020 show, but we are particularly thrilled to welcome back the Hexis Battle,’ said event director Jenny Matthew. ‘The contest went down a storm in 2019, attracting big crowds each day and creating a real presence on the show floor. It’s an excellent way to showcase and celebrate the skilled wrappers within the industry. We’re all excited to see what the 2020 contenders have to show us!’
‘As with last year’s battle, new Hexis materials will be introduced round-by-round to make each heat gradually more difficult for the contestants,’ added Hexis sales and marketing manager Stuart Shenton. ‘The judges will score each contestant on accuracy of fitting, speed, quality of finish, health and safety at work, work ethic and technique. With the crown for the UK’s best wrapper up for grabs, may the best contestant win!’
